Last summer I went to Verapaces

Last summer I went to Verapaces, I visited a lot of places, among them, the Biotopo Mario Dary Rivera nature reserve, commonly called the Biotopo del Quetzal, it’s a rainy and cloudy forest. In the reserve there have been identified at least 58 species of fauna, it is difficult to observe it all. The reserve has a visitor’s center, a little shop for drinks and snacks, and a camping and barbecue area.
The Biotopo has two nature trails, the 1800m Sendero los Helechos and the 3600m Sendero los Musgos. Both go near a waterfall. I had been this place when I was 8, but didn’t remember how beautiful it was.

After that, I went to Salto de Chilasco, I had heard about this place, but I had never been there, when I arrived to the village I had to rent a horse; the trip was really fun. When the horse came the path, I had to walk a lot until we got to the Chilasco waterfall, I had never been so tired, but I've never forgotten this vacation, because I had the opportunity to share with my parents.

Places that you like and don't like that much...

Everybody has places they like and don't like, now I'll share the place I like and don't like that much.

First the place that I like is a mountain called Cuchumatanes in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. It's a cold mountain and many years ago I went to see the Cuchumatanes race, it's in November. In the middle of the race there is a bridge called Calambres named like this because the runners have cramps in theirs legs at this point, in this bridge there are photographers and they take pics of the runners and the funniest thing about the race is the pain in their faces.

Now, the place that I don't like that much is the beach, I have been to the beach many times, and every time I go,  I get a sunburn, even when I didn't stay under the sun, but I've been to a beach that is the most beautiful in Guatemala, called
"La Playita", in the pacific naval base, it's quiet, safe and beautiful.

Natural Wonder, ATITLAN

I Have been many times to this beautiful place named Atitlán, and I always want come back, it is the most beautiful lake in the world, in that place I've done many fun things ...

Like walk around and know little towns with native people, enjoy the peace of the lake, buy souvenirs, and have fun in parties...

I've been in Panajachel, Santa Catarina Palopo, Santiago Atitlan, San Juan and San Pedro, I think one of my favorite towns was Santigo because it's a quiet place with a wonderful peace. In the mornings the lake is crystal clear and is good for sunbathing...   another place where I've been and I had a fun time was San Pedro, it is a little town with delicious food and good night life..

Santa Catarina

I'm so proud of that place, and proud to be a guatemalan...  :)

Diving in Belize

I have been to Belize and I have practiced diving. I really wanted to go diving because it’s difficult for me since I can’t swim very well, so when I was in the water I felt afraid. But I’m going to start practicing my swimming so I feel more comfortable in the water.

THE JIOTE BEACH

There is a lonely place called El jiote, it is is on the boarder of Guatemala and El Salvador, the trip was a wonderful opportunity  to know the best places in the south coast of Guatemala. I had never been there, but a want to come back because the place is full of natural wonders. If you want to go, you need about three hours and an half, you should take a car, that has not problems with bad ways, and in the end of road you'll need a boat to cross the manglar and finaly arrive to the coast. It was a best trip that I ever had.

A WONDERFUL PLACE

 Semuc Champey

I think this place is the most beautiful place I've seen in my life. I went there four years ago and the river is wonderful and so crystal clear that you can see through it, unfortunately we couldn't swim because it's the coldest water. Semuc Champey is in Alta Verapaz, Guatemala. It's the greatest place to hike! It was the most exciting experience I've had in my life, hiking in the rainforest with my friends and family was so exciting.  I've wanted to go back but I haven't had the time.  Maybe I'll try soon.

LANDS OF MY GUATEMALA "PATZULIN FARM"

Hello everyone!
Today, I’m going to tell you about one of the several times I have visited a Farm named “Patzulin”, this farm is located to the west of our country: Guatemala!!!.... This place is totally lovely and very natural; from the main house in the farm you can see the Santamaria and Santiaguito volcanoes. The lands here have been used for planting coffee and nuts, the legend tells us that in the past, the farmers prayed and asked to their guardian Volcanoes rain for their crops.

From the rooms, at nights you can hear the sounds of birds, and if you are lucky, in the morning you can see the volcanoes in the horizon, they seem to be are very close.  I’ve been lucky because every time that I’ve been there I’ve seen the volcanoes and a totally majestic landscape.

Guatemala's Natural Wonders...

Hi guys!!

Our next topic is: Guatemala's Natural Wonders..!

It's a very nice topic and most of us have something to share about a place we've visited or an experience or adventure we've lived in our country, so...I'll start.

One of my favorite places in Guatemala is Chimaltenango..
In Chimaltenango there's a place called Comalapa.
I think that many people haven't really seen the beauty of the places there...
One of the times I went there, I went with my friend Flo and some other guys I met there...

The school year was starting and we wanted to clear our heads and have some contact with nature, so we went for a Mayan ceremony...!
It was awesome, something I hadn't done before and exciting.
We woke up really early... at around 4:30 am and started walking up a hill that would take us to one of the altars.

One of my favorite parts of the experience was walking in the woods so early; you can hear all the birds, breathe fresh air and simply admire nature and I also had the chance to take some of my favorite pictures...!

Beautiful sunrise...

This is one of my favorite pictures... !!

When we finished the ceremony, we shared breakfast and walked down, feeling great and ready to start our school year..

If you want to visit a wonderful place and have some contact with nature, I recommend Comalapa... You'll love it..!

Love trip to Isla Margarita, Venezuela

Two years ago I went to Venezuela.
In that country, I visited a beutiful Island named Isla Margarita,

I remember that vacation like one of the best of my life, because in that place I fell in love..  :)

Isla Margarita is the largest island in Venezuela, situated in the Caribbean sea.

It's the most beautiful one, because there are many beaches,

I remember I was in Parguito,  Playa el Agua, El Yaque, Playa Manzanillo, Porlamar among others..
it was a very quiet trip where we ate delicious food, I took a lot of sun, and enjoyed some unforgettable days with my love..

One of the activities that I'll never forget was a walk to the top to the island ( 5 km), it was very tiring but it was amazing.

Finally, I went to Castillo Pampatar, in than place a man wrote in a paper that my love would last forever.. I hope it is so!!!

and that was my trip, MY LOVE TRIP

My Vacation

Two years ago, I went to Monterrey Mexico.
I liked it there because you can practice extreme sports; fortunetely I'm not scared of them and I practiced them, I've climbed many times different places, and in this place you can do it too.

Amazingly, It wasn't scary because there were some great guides, Unfortunately I couldn't take pictures and my family didn't come with me. So, I hope I'll go back but with the whole family.

Rafting Day

Two years ago I went to Cobán.
Cobán has very exciting rafting adventures at Río Cahabón. I enjoyed rafting, and this experience was the most exciting experience of my life, I felt nervous, with a lot of adrenaline, afraid but I felt happy all the time.
I went to beautiful places, I visited lanquin caves. I took amazing pictures of many landscapes. This trip is not for regular tourists, if you like highly  exciting experiences you should visit Cobán.

SOCCER GAME WITH MESSI

Last year, I went with my kid to a soccer game in Panama, and Messi was there. We were on tour and it was a exiting to go to Panama's Canal, there were great guides, and the next day, we went to the rebuilt stadium, to see the match, unfortunately we were so far that we didn't see the game closely but, there is a big screen and we enjoyed the action. it was the most amazing experience we've ever had, because it was the first time we traveled just  the two of us.

Atitlán Volcano

In the 90's I went four times to Atitlán volcano, in Solola, Guatemala.
One time, I went with my friends. It took us about 3 hours to get there. Once we arrived at the volcano, we walked around 30 minutes on the slopes of the volcano before ascending. We walked for four hours and at the end we went to the summit of the volcano, it was a wonderful thing to see Atitlán lake from the top.

In the evening we saw a few coyotes, which was great. We slept in tents, and it was very cold, and early in the morning we saw the dawn, everything was spectacular. That picture is my favorite, that's me at the summit of Atitlán volcano.

A wonderful natural place in the world, for me, is Atitlán lake.

Vacations in Cobán

X games in Cobán

Tree years ago, I went to Cobán to an eco park called Hun Nal Ye (god of the moon) for tree days, the trip to Coban was very long (about 7 hours), In Hun Nal Ye you can do canopy, fish, wander around or ride a horse or a bike, and if you need more you can ride an ATV, other activities that you can do are: diving, snorkeling or tubing.
The place has two pools and a museum and you can see wild birds.

The first day I went canopying then I saw wild birds, and walked around the place, the next day I rode an ATV, then I wandered around, and in the last day I was exhausted and it was time to go back.

Niagara Falls

I went to Niagara Falls, last year.

I’ve never been in place so beautiful. I took a trip in a little boat to see the falls closely. I was afraid because I can’t swim; fortunately my friends motivated me to go.

Amazingly the trip was really fantastic. We got a little wet, but this experience was extremely wonderful. I’ve never forgotten it, so maybe I’ll go back.

ADVENTURE IN SOUTH AFRICA

Hello Everyone
I would like to share with you a trip I had in the African continent.. yes.. last week I was in South Africa due to a work meeting, but every morning before breakfast with the team, we had an unforgettable experience, yeah! THE SAFARI...

They took us to see different animals, I saw many kinds of animals, I saw zebras, monkeys, giraffes, buffaloes, bisons, and of course the big cats as the Lion and the Cheetahs.
This happened in 4 unique and surprising days, although it was cold, that  didn't stop us from enjoying the wonderful views. Every night in my room I could hear the sounds of some animals, because the rooms were in a nature reserve in the middle of the jungle.

I had never been in South Africa before, and for me it was the best trip I've ever had, I have traveled to other countries but this trip was very different and nice.

A once in a lifetime experience, Solola Guatemala...

A year ago, for New Years Eve, with a couple of friends, we decided that we wanted to take a trip to different parts of our country (a couple of places only), so we took a bus and went to Solola.
Amazingly, the weather was great! just a little cold, but it felt awesome!!

In Sololá, we went to a friend's house, in a place called Pixabaj, and he was really happy to have us in his house; he told us that there were some really beautiful caves that weren't that far from his house, so we decided to go...! There was an amazing waterfall and the view was fantastic. Unfortunately, we didn't know that to get there, we needed to walk for about 2 hours and that we had to climb some rocks too...!
We had walked for a long time and I was tired and thirsty, I wasn't paying attention and then... I slipped!!... Fortunately, nothing happened to me but I had to say goodbye to my clean jeans... and hands!
The most amazing part about everything was that when we got there, even though we had walked for a long time, we had fallen and we were very tired and thirsty, the place was incredible...! I loved it...! So, all the walking and the Indiana Jones' adventure was worth it...!

So, if you have some time to visit a new and exciting place, I recommend Pixabaj..! You'll love it..! Just remember to take old jeans and get ready for an adventure.
